Adobe is working on a generative AI video model for its Firefly family. This will bring new tools to its Premiere Pro video editing platform.
These new Firefly tools will allow users to generate video. They can add or remove objects using text prompts. This is just like Photoshop’s Generative Fill feature. Users can also extend the length of video clips.
Adobe has not set a release date yet. They only said the tools will roll out “this year.” An early video demo showed what the video model can do. Adobe also plans to integrate AI models from other providers. This is not certain yet but is an “early exploration.”
Adobe wants to give Premiere Pro users more choice. They can use models like Pika to extend shots or Sora or Runway AI to generate B-roll. Users can apply Content Credentials labels to these clips. This will identify which AI models have been used to generate them.
The potential of these tools is vast. Video creators can enhance their work faster and easier. They can focus on creativity rather than the technical side of editing. This will likely change the way many people work with video.
