Adobe is working on a generative AI video model for its Firefly family that will bring new tools to its Premiere Pro video editing platform. These new Firefly tools will allow users to generate video and add or remove objects using text prompts, much like Photoshop’s Generative Fill feature.
In addition to its own tools, Adobe is proposing third-party integrations with Runway, Pika Labs, and OpenAI’s Sora models. This means Premiere Pro users could soon extend the length of video clips and generate B-roll with ease. Adobe hasn’t given a release date for these tools yet but aims to roll them out this year.
Adobe showcased what its video model can do in an early demo. They are also exploring integrating third-party AI models to provide more choices. Users may use Pika to extend shots or Sora and Runway AI to generate B-roll. Adobe also says its Content Credentials labels will identify which AI models generated the clips.
These advancements show Adobe’s commitment to innovation. By comparing their tools with others, Adobe aims to learn and improve. They want to provide users with the best tools available. This approach mirrors the idea of learning from those who are ahead, while not fussing over those behind.
Adobe’s focus on comparison and improvement drives their progress. They aim to lead in video editing by adopting the best ideas from various sources. Adobe’s new tools and integrations will make video editing more powerful and user-friendly.
